- The Gund Company Canada worked closely with customer to replace a barrier assembly formerly made up of 3 pieces of glass polyester and hardware.
- The Gund Company Canada proposed FORMEX, a modified polypropylene material with UL94-V0 rating and a dielectric strength 10% above glass polyester.
- Part is CNC stamped, preheated and bent and allowed to cool in fixtures to maintain degree of bend angle.
- Final product was lighter and cheaper than original design, with no assembly required. Customer savings in excess of $10,000 per year.
- Customer preference for custom color (white) was also accommodated.
- Formex can often replace other materials in thinner gauges and offer equal or better dielectric performance, where structural strength is not a requirement.
